Butchers Hill was founded in the mid 1800s and is nestled just north of Fells Point and the northwest corner of Patterson Park. Butchers Hill earned its name from the once large population of butchers and poultry preparers living in the area. Butchers Hill was once was of the largest affluent areas in Baltimore City and is greatly reflected in the real estate.
Even today this affluent past can be seen with the large stately row homes and tree lined streets. Butchers Hill homes offer some of the most magnificent views of the harbor and downtown Baltimore due to their high elevations. Some Butchers Hill homes have sold for more than double that figure due to their massive living space and luxurious finishes.
