Baltimore Homes in Fells Point

Fells Point is nestled between Little Italy and Canton, in Baltimore’s southeastern district. Fells Point was purchased by William Fell in 1726. William Fell was attracted by the deep waters off the shores of Fells Point which allowed large vessels to load and unload cargo. Much of Fells Point real estate was sold to investors who built rowhouses, churches, schools, warehouses and storefront shops to support the community.

Fells Point was nearly changed forever when plans were introduced in 1960 to build the East-West Expressway through the area. This major highway would have changed the landscape forever in Fells Point and Federal Hill. Activists lobbied to stop the construction of this highway in the historical district of Fells Point. After nearly 20 years of review the plans were halted.

As you drive down Fells Point’s cobbled stone roads today you will see a large number of pubs, restaurants, bars, art galleries, live music, coffee shops, boutiques and the Broadway Market. Fells Point boasts the largest concentration of pubs and bars in the entire city. Real estate and homes in Fells Point have seen a lot of changes in recent years. The influx of middle to upper middle class renovating rowhouses, commercial storefronts and warehouses has greatly increased the value of real estate in Fells Point. This Baltimore City neighborhood continues to be one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city.
